Design Builder based Energy Building Audit

Summary
The Energy audit of the building can be used to measure and record real energy consumption in building and consequently minimizing energy consumption.
Energy audit aims to:

a) Simulation of Heat and mass transfer in the building, including heat and cooling design, annual simulation, CFD (computational Fluid Dynamic), daylight and cost

– Reduction of energy lost in building

– How external environment affects on energy lost in the building

– Anticipating energy costs and expressing consumption pattern of heat transferring

b) Online monitoring of temperature, pressure, humidity, lighting, indoor air quality (such as CO2, CO, NO2 and smoke) by means of installing sensors

c) Moreover, course provides an invaluable platform for dialog and open exchange of view and experiences

Course Outline::

– Lecture on“Advanced Heat & Mass transfer”: 5 hour.
– Lecture on“Principles of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD)”: 5 hours
– Learning and training with Design Builder Software (DB): 15 hours

– Make a geometry and visualize it
– Heating and cooling design based on Energy plus engine and Ashare weather data for different building zones and different time
– HVAC design and operation
– Energy simulation over a time period (days, months and years) for different zone
– CFD simulation to analyse the impact of different parameters and objectives on the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
– Performing a practical projects using DB under supervision of teachers: 15 hour
